The concept of BAE (biologically active elements)

Dietary supplements are of vegetable, animal and mineral origin, not only improve the overall health and physical strength, but also increases stamina, physical and psychological stress and performance.
Dietary supplements are used as complementary or intermediate funds between medicines and foods. Dietary supplements act in the body softer than drugs and have virtually no side effects.
Dietary supplements are developed and produced by numerous leading manufacturers with the latest technologies developed by leading pharmaceutical companies. These techniques allow the most efficient transport of the active components, their high bioavailability and effectiveness of the impact on certain tissue of the organism due to the combined properly ingredients (minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, etc.) to obtain the effect of the synthesis.

There are two groups of dietary supplements:

1 Nutraceuticals
 – act as required by the body substances: vitamins, macro-and microelements (i.e. minerals), polyunsaturated fatty acids, essential amino acids, and dietary fibers, and mono-and disaccharides used for correcting the chemical composition of the food. In general they are used with advanced food technologies but no pharmaceutical ones.
2 Parapharmaceuticals – are dietary supplements, have a certain pharmacological activity – bioflavonoids, alkaloids, organic acids, saponins, glycosides, polysaccharides and essential oils. They are used to prevent disease, adjuvant therapy, and support for the functional activity of the body and individual organs and systems. This group is similar to of medicines, but at doses that are lower than the doses used in treatment. For example: products containing caffeine; adaptogens, restorative vitamin plants (rose, buckthorn, dandelion). In the manufacture of nutraceutical pharmaceutical technologies are already being used.
Due to insufficient coverage of clinical efficacy of this group of nutrients the attitude of doctors to BAE is very different, not always positive, although the intensity of their impact is not inferior to some medications. For example – the treatment of allergies, seborrhea, bronchitis, colds, hair loss and so on.

The difference of dietary supplements from food and medicines

1. The ratio of biologically active elements is impossible to calculate precisely in food. But in BAE is strictly calculated in accordance with the needs of the body, and indicated in the instructions and package inserts.
2. Keeping the food, the amount of nutrients varies depending on the terms and conditions of storage while the content of essential elements for human in BAE is strictly controlled.
3. The advantage of nutritional supplements is that they are made of natural ingredients, and it is of great interest to patients. As a preventive measure, they do not act in place of medication, but, in turn, significantly reduce the number of their application.
4. The effect is slower than that of drugs, and much longer.
5. The overdose is practically impossible, and no side effects in comparison with synthetic drugs.
6. Considering the growth of medication load and increase the frequency of medical complications, often accompanied by an allergic reaction, dietary supplements are especially important for the elderly, patients with low body resistance, chronic illnesses, living in harsh environments or long staying in extreme conditions, as well as at heightened sporting load .
7. I would like to remind you that dietary supplements are a natural complement to a healthy diet and should make up from 15 to 25% of your diet, and their use should be grounded by anamnesis (survey) and strictly individually matched.
